Betsey Johnson's spring/summer 2011 fashion collection is everything and more you'd expect from her as it manages to travel from one style to another, ensuring women can find a matching style for their personality.
The collection debuted with retro style enforced by the fabulous body suits that revealed the feminine forms perfectly through the design as well as color. These stylish and daring outfits were paired with gorgeous chains, belts, gloves, leg warmers, sunglasses and cool jewelry, in a manner that instantly took you back to the 80s fashion scene when fashion boldness reached its peak
Following the retro splash of color and skin came the stylish prints which stole the spotlight. Prints are incredibly popular this spring/summer 2011 season and Betsey Johnson gave these prints a unique feel through design and accessories used. Bold accessories, hot colors, black&white patters were all there to bring you that downtown chicness.
It was all about having fun and feeling great wearing an outfit; the best part being the immense diversity seen on the runway. This season a variety of styles have clashed, styles which can all be found on Betsey's podium, styles which wear her unmistakable signature.
From stylish crinoline dresses to flirty playsuits, leotards, vintage inspired corsets paired with cute ruffled shorts to amazing maxi dresses, the collection screamed for attention and for a good reason. Fashion is supposed to be fun and this collection was all about that.
Betsey's more romantic side was revealed once the maxi dresses and floral prints made their way to the podium, and the result was absolutely dreamy. Chiffon dresses that roared spring beauty and femininity were given a little bit of modernism and nonconformism through the colorful shoes and oversized “Ride Me” glittery necklaces.
Lace, ruffles and see-through fabrics gave the collection a sensual, seductive feel that captured attention. The designs featured a vintage feel balanced by the modernism or sexy elements such as lace and mesh. To emphasize the seductive power of the outfits bold, sexy colors were used, colors such as fierce red, black, lavender, turquoise, colors which flatter most skin tones and match the new season.
Navy as well as rave-like prints closed the fabulous show and kicked the collection up a notch as they were all incredible. Navy hues and details such as navy suits, hats, stripes gave the sea-breeze feel that was instantly switched to a Cindy Lauper-ish style when the neon colored dresses made their appearance. Splashes of gorgeous neon hues such as hot purple (worn by Katy Perry at the 2011 People's Choice Awards), orange, hot pink, electric blue and yellow-green enchant the eyes so no wonder the collection received such amount of attention and appreciation.
